SnagMyCar and Delivrd both negotiate a new car for you, but they run very different processes. SnagMyCar charges $499 and collects written, itemized out the door quotes from every matching dealer by email. Delivrd charges $1,000 for a human-led negotiation. Delivrd is the better fit if you want a phone-first advocate or live outside our states.
This page compares the two services on the terms that decide most purchases: what you pay, what happens if you change your mind, who talks to the dealer, and how long it takes. Delivrd's details come from its own service agreement and press coverage, as of October 2026. Where Delivrd does not publish something, we say so instead of guessing.

How SnagMyCar works
You tell us the exact car: make, model, trim, colors, must-haves, how far you'll travel and whether you want pickup or delivery. We find every matching car in stock at franchised dealers inside that radius and email each one for a written, itemized out the door price. That first round takes about 36 hours.
Round two takes about 24 hours. We send the best written number back to the other dealers and ask them to beat it. Then the top two get a final call, which takes about 12 hours. You get a side by side list of written quotes with an estimated pickup or delivery cost added, so you compare the total to your driveway rather than a sticker discount.
You pick one. We tell the winning dealer, they send a buyer's order at that exact number, and we check that it matches. You buy and title the car directly from the dealer. We never take title, never handle the purchase money and never take money from dealers or lenders. The full sequence is on how SnagMyCar's dealer bidding works.
How Delivrd works
Delivrd starts with a consult call about specs, budget, timeline, trade-in and delivery. Its team then contacts dealerships, requests window stickers, pulls out the door pricing and compares finance terms. Its service agreement promises "no fewer than two" ranked options. Once you pick, Delivrd negotiates and closes the deal.
The style is personal. A client on the BobIsTheOilGuy forum describes the founder running a group text with the salesperson and requiring all communication to go through it. The founder also livestreams negotiations on TikTok and YouTube, and that visibility is a large part of the brand. Moneywise, via Yahoo Finance, reported in April 2026 that the company had about five negotiators and that some dealers hang up on the founder because of his online profile.
What each one costs, including when plans change
The headline fees are $499 and $1,000. The difference grows if you change your mind. Delivrd's agreement charges $250 to change features or trim on the same car and $500 to switch to a different car. Swap from one model to another partway through and the Delivrd total reaches $1,500.
SnagMyCar has no change fee in its pricing. The $99 deposit starts the search. The $400 balance is charged only after the winning dealer's buyer's order matches the number you picked. If no dealer produces a matching buyer's order, the $400 is never charged. The full breakdown is on SnagMyCar pricing.
To judge either fee, look at the dealer's total rather than the service's fee in isolation. Take a hypothetical $40,000 car. A $499 fee is about 1.2 percent of that price and a $1,000 fee is 2.5 percent. Whether either pays off depends on how far the negotiated out the door number lands below what you could get yourself. Our guide on whether a car broker is worth it walks through that math.
Refunds and guarantees
This is the sharpest difference. Delivrd's fee is non-refundable once work begins, and it publishes no savings guarantee. A full refund is available only if work has not started.
SnagMyCar's guarantee is tied to a number you can check. Bring the best written out the door quote you already have. If we don't beat it, the $99 is refunded and you pay nothing. Because the benchmark is your own written quote, there is no argument about what counts as a good deal. Get that quote in writing and itemized before you sign up; our guide to asking dealers for an out the door price by email shows how.
Where Delivrd is a better fit
- You want a person on the phone. Delivrd's process runs on calls and text threads with a named negotiator. SnagMyCar works by email and has no phone line.
- You live outside our eight states. Delivrd does not limit itself to a published state list. We serve only Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Delaware, Vermont, Wyoming and Idaho right now.
- You want your trade-in handled in the same deal. Delivrd negotiates trade-ins. Our quotes cover the new car only.
- You want a used car or a lease. We are new cars only at launch. Ask Delivrd directly whether it covers your case, since its pages don't spell it out.
- You want finance terms negotiated for you. Delivrd compares finance terms. We don't arrange loans; we tell you to get a credit union or bank pre-approval and make the dealer beat it.
Where SnagMyCar is a better fit
- You know the exact car and want every matching dealer in your radius competing for it in writing.
- You want a fixed, lower fee with no change fees and most of it charged only after the paperwork matches.
- You want a guarantee measured against your own written quote rather than a non-refundable fee.
- You don't want dealer calls. Dealers deal with us until you choose one.
- You want to see itemized totals side by side, including estimated delivery, before you commit to a dealer.
What neither service can change
Some cars have nothing to negotiate. Tesla, Rivian, Lucid and Polestar sell direct at a fixed price, so no buying service can get dealers to bid on them. On waitlisted, high-demand models, discounts can be thin no matter who asks; Jalopnik makes the same point about concierge services in general.
Rules also vary by state. Many states regulate or restrict car buying agents, which is why we serve a short list for now. CBT News has reported scrutiny of Delivrd's legal standing as broker rules tighten in states including New Jersey. If you are comparing services, ask each one how it operates in your state.

Questions
Is SnagMyCar cheaper than Delivrd?
Yes, on the published fees. SnagMyCar costs $499 total, with $400 of it charged only after the dealer's buyer's order matches the price you picked. Delivrd's service agreement lists $1,000 per deal, plus $250 to change trim or features and $500 to switch to a different car, as of October 2026. What you save on the car itself depends on the quotes each service gets, so compare final out the door totals, not just fees.
Does Delivrd refund its fee if it can't find a good deal?
Delivrd's service agreement offers a full refund only if work has not started and the client is completely unsatisfied. Once work begins, the fee is non-refundable, and Delivrd publishes no savings guarantee, as of October 2026. SnagMyCar's guarantee works differently: if we don't beat the best written out the door quote you already have, your $99 deposit is refunded and you pay nothing.
Can SnagMyCar negotiate my trade-in the way Delivrd does?
No. Delivrd negotiates trade-ins as part of its service. SnagMyCar quotes cover the new car only. We suggest getting written offers for your current car separately, then deciding whether to sell it outright or trade it in at the dealer you pick. If having one person handle both the new car and the trade-in matters to you, Delivrd is the better fit.
Which is faster, SnagMyCar or Delivrd?
SnagMyCar publishes its timeline: about 3 to 4 days from signup to quotes ready, made up of a 36-hour first round, a 24-hour second round and a 12-hour final call. Delivrd does not publish a turnaround time on the pages we reviewed as of October 2026, so ask it directly how long your search is likely to take before you pay.
Should I use SnagMyCar or Delivrd if I live outside your states?
Use Delivrd or another service. SnagMyCar serves only Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Delaware, Vermont, Wyoming and Idaho right now, because many states regulate or restrict car buying agents. Buyers elsewhere can join our waitlist. Delivrd does not publish a state list, so confirm with it that it can work on a purchase in your state.
