New car quotes in writing for attorneys short on hours

SnagMyCar gets attorneys written, itemized out the door quotes on a new car from every franchised dealer in their radius that has it, with no showroom visit and no sales calls. You approve the car and pick the winning quote by email, and we check the dealer's buyer's order against that number before you sign. The fee is $499.

Your hours are the real cost of a car deal

Lawyers already think in tenths of an hour, so the math will feel familiar. Cox Automotive's 2025 car buyer study found buyers spend just under 14 hours in total to buy a vehicle. Few associates or partners have 14 spare hours in a month with filings, closings or trial prep on the calendar, and the hours a dealership wants are usually the ones you planned to spend sleeping or with family.

We take the shopping, the back and forth and the waiting off your calendar. What remains is two decisions and a signature. You choose the exact car at the start, you choose the winning quote at the end, and you sign the dealer's paperwork once we have confirmed it matches.

Everything in writing, which is how you prefer it

A verbal number at a sales desk is worth very little. Every quote we collect is written, itemized and tied to a specific vehicle in stock. After round one, we send the best written number to the other dealers and ask them to beat it in writing. The top two then get a final call. Quotes are ready in about three to four days: roughly 36 hours for round one, 24 for round two and 12 for the final call.

You end up with a side by side list you can read the way you would read a term sheet. Each row shows the selling price, the doc fee, every add-on by name, taxes, title and registration, and an estimated pickup or delivery cost. A dealer can concede on price and recover the money in fees, so we only accept complete out the door totals. Our guide to the out the door price explains each line, and the one on doc fees by state shows why that single line varies so much.

The buyer's order gets the closest read

The buyer's order is the document that turns a quote into a deal, so it gets the most attention from us. Once you choose, the winning dealer sends a buyer's order at the number you picked, and we compare it line by line with the quote. Our $400 success fee is charged only when they match.

Know where our check stops. We confirm the numbers and the line items. We do not give legal review of contract terms, and we are not acting as your counsel. If you finance through the dealer, read the retail installment contract yourself; terms such as arbitration clauses and optional products show up there, not on the quote, and you are the one signing it.

Discretion and who calls you

Some attorneys would rather not have their cell number sitting in a dozen dealer sales systems, especially in a smaller legal market where clients, opposing counsel and judges shop at the same stores. Dealers work through us until you choose. The store you pick needs your details to write the buyer's order and title the car. The others are dealing with us, not calling you. That is a sharp contrast with a typical online lead form, where follow-up calls can start almost right away.

Fitting a purchase around trial, closings and year end

The rounds run without you, so the only timing question is when you read the results. If you know a trial or a deal closing will consume a particular week, start the search a few days before it and pick a quote on the first evening you have. Quotes are tied to cars on lots, and a long pause can mean the car you liked has sold, so plan to decide within a few days of the list arriving.

Some lawyers time a car purchase around a bonus, a partner distribution or the start of a new tax year. If the purchase connects to your taxes, for example because you are a partner who might use the car for firm business, ask your own CPA before you buy. We do not give tax advice, and the answer depends on your firm structure and your situation.

Financing, or paying cash

We do not arrange loans and we take nothing from lenders. If you plan to finance, get a written pre-approval from a credit union or bank first and make the dealer beat it. Lenders commonly allow dealers to add about 2 to 2.5 percentage points of markup over the rate the lender charges the dealer, so a written outside rate sets a floor the finance office has to clear. If you pay cash, the quotes should not change. Price and financing are separate conversations, and we keep them that way.

What we can shop, and what we cannot

We handle new cars from franchised dealers, from mainstream brands through luxury and exotic brands sold by US dealers, such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Maserati. On a model with a waiting list, dealers quote in writing the price relative to sticker, any market adjustment, the deposit and its refund terms, and allocation timing. Our page on luxury and exotic purchases covers how that works. If you want a specific build that no lot has, a factory order runs the same way from your configurator summary, and we stay with the dealer through order and delivery.

We do not handle used cars or leases right now. Brands that sell direct, such as Tesla, Rivian, Lucid and Polestar, have no dealers to negotiate with. We serve buyers in Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Delaware, Vermont, Wyoming and Idaho, since many states regulate or ban car buying agents.

Pickup or delivery

Delivery to your home or office can often be arranged with the dealer. Every quote carries an estimated pickup or delivery cost, so the list ranks on the total to your driveway. A slightly cheaper car three hours away may cost you a Saturday and a ride to the store; a delivered car from a closer dealer may come out ahead once you count both.

The fee and the guarantee

The fee is $499 in total: a $99 deposit and $400 after the buyer's order matches. If you already hold a written out the door quote and we do not beat it, the $99 is refunded and you pay nothing. The full breakdown is on the pricing page, and the process page walks through each round.

If you negotiate for a living and suspect you could do this yourself, you may be right; our comparison of a broker versus negotiating yourself lays out when the fee is not worth it. Questions

Do you review the purchase contract for me?

We check the numbers. We compare the dealer's buyer's order line by line against the quote you chose, covering price, doc fee, add-ons, taxes and registration, and charge our $400 only when it matches. We do not give legal review of contract terms. If you finance through the dealer, read the retail installment contract yourself before signing.

How long does the process take?

About three to four days from signup to finished quotes. Round one takes roughly 36 hours, round two about 24 hours, and the final call with the top two about 12 hours. You do nothing during the rounds. Plan to choose within a few days of the list arriving, since quoted cars can sell.

Will local dealers know I am shopping?

Dealers in your radius receive requests from us for a matching car, and they work with us until you choose. Only the winning dealer needs your details to write the buyer's order and title the car. You will not get the stream of follow-up calls that a typical online lead form triggers.

Can I buy the car through my firm or professional corporation?

Possibly, but decide that with your CPA and, if needed, your firm's administrator before you start. We do not give tax advice. If you buy in an entity's name, tell us the exact legal buyer at signup so the quotes and buyer's order are written correctly from the start.

I negotiate for a living. Why not do it myself?

You may get a fine result on your own, and our comparison page says when that makes more sense. What we add is reach and time: every franchised dealer in your radius with a matching car, two written rounds and a final call, and a buyer's order check, without any of your hours spent on it.
